About Me

My Journey To Calm.

Hi, I'm Heather Colman.

I’m a qualified and accredited counsellor, supervisor and wellbeing programme creator, with over a decade of experience supporting people through personal and professional challenges.

Since establishing my private counselling practice in 2012, I’ve had the privilege of working with people from many different backgrounds, helping them develop greater self-awareness, confidence and emotional wellbeing. My experience has taught me that while people may appear confident and capable on the outside, they can often be carrying stress, self-doubt, overwhelm or uncertainty beneath the surface.

This understanding is also rooted in my own journey. There was a time when I struggled with confidence, self-doubt and feeling disconnected from what I really wanted from life. Experiencing counselling myself was an important turning point and ultimately inspired me to train as a counsellor. That experience continues to influence the way I work today — with compassion, curiosity and without judgement.

Over the years, my work has naturally developed beyond one-to-one counselling. I’ve become increasingly interested in how we can support people to develop their emotional wellbeing and resilience before difficulties become overwhelming, as well as how we can continue to learn and grow throughout our personal and professional lives.

I believe that not every challenge requires in-depth counselling or therapy. Sometimes people simply need the opportunity to pause, reflect, develop greater self-awareness and learn practical tools that can help them manage life and work more effectively.

This is what led me to develop wellbeing courses and group programmes that combine evidence-based approaches with practical learning, reflection and supportive connection. My aim is to give people tools and understanding that they can take away and incorporate into their everyday lives, creating positive and sustainable change beyond the programme itself.

Alongside my wellbeing work, I offer supervision and continuing professional development for counselling and therapeutic professionals, supporting practitioners to reflect on their work, develop their practice and continue their professional growth.

I’m passionate about creating spaces where people feel supported to learn, reflect and develop, whether that’s an individual looking to enhance their wellbeing, an organisation investing in the wellbeing of its staff members, or a professional seeking continued development.

I believe meaningful change doesn’t always have to be dramatic. Often, it begins with small, consistent steps - creating space to pause, developing greater awareness and finding practical ways to move forward with confidence.
